Project Description
The Situation
We stepped in to help a widow after her husband passed away. For over five decades, this massive Victorian home in Fredericktown had been the social center of the neighborhood—their kids had all their friends over, and it was a real hub for the community. However, over those fifty years, the husband had accumulated a massive amount of belongings, filling the entire property.
The Condition of the House

The sheer size of this property made the situation incredibly daunting. We aren’t just talking about a cluttered living room. The large Victorian house, the massive two-story detached barn, the basement, and the garage were all packed completely full. There were decades of tools, furniture, boxes, and machinery stacked everywhere. While the house itself had great bones and beautiful woodwork, the volume of stuff inside was completely overwhelming.
Why She Was Stuck
The widow was grieving, and the house had simply become too much for her to take care of by herself. The thought of sorting through a fifty-year hoard in a giant Victorian home and a two-story barn was paralyzing. She needed to transition out of the property, but she couldn’t face the emotional and physical exhaustion of a massive cleanout.
How We Handled It
We bought the house from her exactly as it sat, full of fifty years of belongings. She took what she wanted and walked away without having to clear out the barn or rent a single dumpster. Once she was safely moved out, my team spent the next two months executing a massive, top-to-bottom cleanout. We meticulously cleared out the house, the basement, the garage, and that giant barn.
The Outcome
We got everything cleaned up, made the necessary repairs to get the house back in good working order, and hired a professional crew to deep clean every inch. We then sold this beautiful piece of Fredericktown history at a fair discount to a new homeowner who absolutely loved the property and the neighborhood. The widow got her clean break, and the house got a fresh start with a new family.
